The hardest SIE exam questions, according to real data

Every prep company has an opinion about what makes the SIE hard. This page has measurements: aggregate, anonymous miss rates from real practice answers on Lucky the Banker's bank of 1,906 SIE questions. It regenerates daily — last updated 2026-08-20.

Across 11,566 real answers, candidates miss 24.6% of questions overall. But the misses are not evenly spread — the topics below are where scores actually go to die.

The calibration surprise

Questions our authors label "easy" get missed 21.7% of the time, while "hard" ones get missed 26.8%. The gap between how hard a question looks and how often it is actually missed is exactly why studying from real miss data beats studying from vibes.

Reading the hardest questions is diagnosis, not treatment. Drill your own weak areas — the app tracks which topics you personally miss and rebuilds your quiz mix around them.

Methodology

Computed from anonymous, aggregate practice-answer records on Lucky the Banker joined to the public SIE question bank. Answers are counted per question; no names, emails, or per-user data are used or exposed. Questions need at least 10 real attempts to be ranked individually and topics need at least 30 attempts. The report refreshes daily. Full tables, per-topic attempt counts, and a JSON download live in the SIE difficulty report. Official exam format facts come from the FINRA SIE exam page.
